Gamelan Kjahi Kaduk, Manis Rengga – Gamelan Music from Java – Philips 831 209 PL, recorded by Nusjirwan Tirtaamidjaja in the Kraton of Surakarta, in 1963 (LP).
Following our two posts of Javanese court music (here and here), we now present another gorgeous gamelan album recorded in Sukarata, Central Java, in 1963.
Spacy circular music with an otherworldly aura, featuring the deep, lingering sounds of interwoven gamelan clusters, delicate ghostlike female voices, and the stark, abstract sonorities of a bowed rebab violin.

Every post a winner - thank you very much for all your work here! I don't had this classic Gamelan recording yet.
