A lovely poetic disc of authentic traditional and folk music from the Middle Empire’s ethnic minorities of Inner Mongolia and the vast 1.6-million-sq-km (640,000-sq-mi) Xinjiang territory bordering Mongolia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India.
Side A features Mongolian music and Side B music from the Kazakhs and the Uyghur.
Des musiques folkloriques poétiques de minorités ethniques vivant en Mongolie intérieure et dans le vaste territoire du Xinjiang (1,6 million de km² ). Le Xinjiang, aux confins de l'Empire du Milieu, jouxte la Mongolie, la Russie, le Kazakhstan, le Kirghizistan, le Tadjikistan, l'Afghanistan, le Pakistan et l'Inde.
La face A présente des musiques mongoles et la face B des musiques kazakhs et ouïgour.

ReplyDeleteNon, c'est the Last Queen of Mongolia, Queen Genepil 1905-1938. Photo is from 1920. Mongolia was later shortly annexed by China, then became a communist country.
Delete... wife of the last Mongol Khan; after the death of her husband, she was arrested and executed in 1938.
Delete
