DeleteThanks for the article. This anecdote perfectly exemplifies the traditional spirit and lofty concerns. Today most people would only think: what a fool not to have taken advantage of the situation to secure material wealth; that he's in fact selfish and doesn't even think about his children's future bla bla. Little do they know he in fact gave his son Amjad the greatest gift of all: the essence of nobility and the understanding of Raga Darbari

ReplyDeleteMerci beaucoup pour ca...Darbari/Darbari Kannada is one of the most beautiful (and old) and profound Raga. It's said that only an accomplished, and with much experience, classical musician would venture to render Darbari, either on instruments or vocal.
